Weekly Bowls Notice 18 December 2023

A small number of bowlers turned up for Social Bowls today, a few games of triples was played. Monday 15 January, 2024 Social Bowls will start again.

Social Bowls played every Monday, names in by 12.30pm for a 12.45pm start by phoning the club on 6772 5666. Results from games played over the weekend.

Major Singles. Gavin Latham defeated Paul Bullen 25-21. Gav led most of the way, Paul was fighting back, only to go down in the end.

Open Singles. Lindsay McIntyre defeated Laurie Williams 25-8. Minor Triples. Helen Alexander, Rosie Fuller, Marj South defeated Fred Swanson, Torsten Vestergaard, Ronnie Sullivan 24-14. For our last night of Twilight Bowls for the year, we had 11 turn up.

The winner with the most points was Paul Wadleigh and in second place was Torsten Vestergaard both winning a ham each. The winner of the $50 random participation prize was Lee Marshall. Congratulations to you all. Twilight Bowls will resume on Thursday 1 February, 2024. Twilight Bowls on Thursday nights, starting at 6pm. The cost per person will be $5. Names to be in by 5.30pm by phoning the club on 6772 5666.

Nominations for the Club’s Open Mixed Fours are now on the noticeboard. Entries close 21st January, 2024. A reminder to all bowlers that it will cost you $5 per event that you have entered in the Club Championships, payable to the Games Manager, Rosie Fuller on the day of play.

A copy of the 2023-2024 Conditions of Play for Open State Pennants is now on display in our Bowls Cupboard. Zone 3 Junior Championships will be held at the Armidale City Bowling Club from 25 – 28 January, 2024. Entries close 19 January, 2024. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our bowlers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Bowls to resume late January or early February.
