Weekly Bowls Notice 14 April – 2025

Social Bowls on Wednesday of last week, we had 14 players. Winners were Brad White and Emo. Runners up were John Waters, Laurie Judd, John Lankester. Monday Social Bowls we had 12 players. Winners were Victor Ng, Des Schuman. Runners up were Michelle Babich, Geoff Monley. Social Bowls played every Monday and Wednesday, names in by 12.30pm for a 12.45pm start by phoning the club on 6772 5666. Social Bowls will be going ahead on Easter Monday.  

Results from the weekend’s games. Open Singles. Todd Fuller defeated Terry Ogilvie 25-10. Minor Singles. Col Holden defeated Cahill McIntyre 29-31. 

Grade 5 Pennant Teams travelled to Bingara over the weekend to play in the Regional Play Offs. Armidale City defeated Inverell RSM 53-50 in Round 1. Wee Waa defeated Armidale City 56-64 in the Final and now progress to the State Pennant Finals for Grade 5. Congratulations Armidale City for getting this far in Grade 5 Pennants, a fantastic effort indeed.

The following games have been set down for Saturday 26 April – Open Singles Round 1 – 9.30am start. Richard Kembrey plays Scott Froome, marker Terry Ogilvie. This game must be played on or before 26 April or Forfeit Rule will apply. Saturday 26 April – Major Fours – 9.30am start. Mal Turner, Shane Bowden, Brad Dade, Matt Fletcher play Todd Fuller, Peter Robinson, Tom Inman, Steve Fuller. Winner of this match is to play again on Sunday 27 April, start time to be confirmed. Saturday 26 April - 9.30am start. Minor Pairs. Claude McFayden, Brad White play Cahill McIntyre, Andrew Carey. Lee Robinson, Sammi Robinson play Michael Coombes, Paul Wadleigh. Sunday 27 April – 9.30am start. Open Singles. Matt Fletcher plays Chris Moy, marker Brad Dade.   Major Fours. TDB play Chris Brodbeck, Dale Smith, Terry McMillan, Kyle Brodbeck. Saturday 10 May – Minor Pairs Round 1 – 9.30am start. Jason Prince, Scott Froome play Elsie Clarke, Laurie Williams. This game must be played on for before 10 May or Forfeit Rule will apply.

Nominations are now open for the following games: Mixed Pairs. Major/Minor Pairs - a boxed draw to take place for this. Mixed Fours. Major/Minor Fours - a boxed draw to take place for this also. Nominations close on 28 April. 2025. If there are insufficient numbers, these competitions will not be held.
