The Can Assist Charity day ran in conjunction with the Uralla Bowling Club on Tuesday November 19, 2019 was a terrific day.  The response from the bowlers and the general public was tremendous.  There were 16 teams of bowlers who filled the two greens to play one game of 14 ends, preceded by a spider.  Overall, almost one hundred people attended.  The morning tea was just amazing, how those Uralla ladies can cook!

The Uralla President, Phyllis Dade and Maryanne Munsie, spokesperson for the Uralla Can Assist Society welcomed all visitors to their fund-raising day and both said they were delighted to see so many people present.  Raffles and a trading table attracted many customers willing to buy.  After the game of bowls a wonderful Chinese banquet was very welcome and devoured by everyone.  Raffle and Spider winners were also happy with their prizes.  The City bowlers travelled in the club bus kindly driven by Dennis Dougherty and guess who was first on the bus? Dawn Fuller of course!

The winners of the bowls were:  Ist: Maryanne Munsie, Jenny Rizzi, Pat Laurel, Paul Hine.  2nd: Rae Andrews, Bob Halloran, J Abberilla, Margaret Macgregor.  3rd:  D Rickards, Fiona Swanson, L Martin, P McLean.  Approximately $1,000 was raised for Can Assist.  It was a great day, everyone went home tired but happy.
