Armidale City Womens Bowling Club

The Regional play-offs for the No 4 Grade Pennants were hosted by the East Inverell Women’s Bowling Club on Tuesday and Wednesday May 9-10 and it was wonderful to play against other clubs from the 4 Districts in Zone 3. The overall results after two days of competitive bowling were:   congratulations to the East Gwydir District with Inverell scoring 14 points:  second was South Tamworth, Central Northern District with 9 points, third was Narrabri with 6 points, Namoi District and fourth was Armidale City with 1 point, New England District.  Armidale City tried hard and had some close games but unfortunately this did not reflect on the score board.   Inverell East were great hosts with first class catering, good accommodation and good greens.

Social bowls were played on Friday May 12 and results are: M King, D O’Connell defeated I Myhill, G Holmes; F Bourke, J Gossip, D Fuller defeated F Bourke (2), J Carey, J Hoenger. Club Triples were played on Tuesday May 16 and teams from our club participated in Walcha’s President’s day on Wednesday May 17 so these results will be published next week.   Best wishes to those bowlers playing in the NEDWBA Open Pairs at Guyra on Saturday and Sunday 20-21 May and in the State Carnival at Warilla on Monday May 22.   A reminder to all members, your annual subscription fees for the ensuing year are:  $71.00 and are now due.  Please pay by May 30 to the Secretary or you will forfeit your membership.
