Al will be singing hits from the 1970’s and his repertoire covers pop rockers Rod Stewart, John Mellencamp, Elvis, as well as balladeers, Elton John, Billy Joel, Don McLean and John Denver.
Al’s show incorporates the classic hits, ‘Drift Away’ by Doby Gray, ‘Lean On Me’ by Bill Withers and ‘The Gambler’ by Kenny Rogers as well as bands The Eagles, Credence Clearwater Revival, Cold Chisel and Smokie!
Following the release of his latest singe, ‘She’s The Watersign’, Al will also perform a selection of his own compositions including his amusing ‘Soundcheck Song’, the heartfelt ballad ‘Your Worn Out Shoes’ and his local radio hit ‘1963’ about growing up in a small country town.
Al says he is “excited to be playing Armidale for the first time and bringing my Songs Of The 70s!”
Al won the North Tamworth Bears Club Talent Quest 1st Prize in 2015 and travelled to America where he performed in Nashville TENNESSEE, Austin TEXAS and New York City. He sang on stage at the prestigious Carnegie Hall as a member of Australia’s all male Choir, The Blenders’ and he was nominated for the Music Champion Of The Year award on the Gold Coast in 2015.
Al plays requests at all of his shows, so this is going to be a concert packed with favourites.
