Securing the Future of Our Sport
Part of the Armidale City Bowling Clubs commitment to fostering and developing bowls in the Armidale community has been the formulation of a Bowls Development Committee.
The committee’s role is to develop a strategy that will aid in actively encouraging schools and individuals to participate in the sport of bowls. By increasing participation levels our goal is to secure the longevity of the sport in the local community, as well as, educate the public of the healthy lifestyle and social benefits of the game.
To date the committee has measurable increased junior membership within the Club, engaged junior bowlers from all local schools as part of their sporting curriculum and developed a junior bowls committee comprising junior bowlers that structure and develop junior bowling initiatives. This year will also see the inaugural Schools Bowls Challenge run by the Club with prize money available for all participating local schools.
