Armidale City Men’s Bowls.

Results from games played last weekend. Major Singles. L McIntyre defeated P McCann 31 to 21. Minor Singles. A Bull defeated G Frost 32 to 24. A Carey defeated D Dougherty 31 to 9. R Sullivan defeated C Moy 31 to 20. Major Pairs. T McMillan and T Randell defeated M Jackson and P Doyle 19 to 12. S Fuller and T Inman defeated T Fuller and P Bullen 25 to 7. Minor Pairs. M Henderson and N McLean defeated D Dowse and K Luxford 24 to 13. S Stubbs and R Cundy defeated C Moy and R Sullivan 27 to 19. A Bull and P Clarke defeated C McFayden and F Lipscombe 34 to 10.

Games set down for next weekend. Moree travelling bowlers will be visiting our club on the 10th February and we require 30 bowlers to play against them. Mixed social bowls will be played on Sunday mornings at 10am. Cost is $2 and includes a sausage sizzle. Names to be in by 9.30am.

Jack Attack Triples will be played on Thursday nights at 5.30pm, beginning on the 8th February and finishing on the 5th April. Nominated teams, substitutes can be different each week. Non bowlers welcome. Entry fee is $20 to be paid by the 8th February. Entry forms are on the bowls notice board.

Social results Tuesday January 30, D O’Connell, G Holmes, D Fuller, D Tremayne defeated J Hoenger. B Charter, M Knight, M Macgregor.

No 4 Pennant results Tuesday January 30, ACWBC played Walcha at Armidale and congratulations to Walcha who defeated ACWBC by 40 shots to 33 and gained the overall points score of 4-1. ACWBC however, won on one rink.

The monthly members’ draw was a win for Dot first and Dawn drawing second prize. Friday February 2 no bowls were played due to the welcome rain received.   A  reminder the District nominations close on February 20.

Pennant results Saturday February 3, 2018 City hosted the No 4 and No 3 pennant teams from Ex-Service’s and results are:  No 3:  ACWBC 34 defeated Ex-Service’s 32 overall and winning on one rink only for a 4-1 points score.  No 4:  Ex-Service’s 38 overall defeated ACWBC 34 winning on one rink only with a points score 4-1.

The return match against Ex-Service’s will be held on Saturday February 10 at Ex-Service’s for the No 3 Pennant teams.   Players are requested to be at the club by 8.00 am.
