Congratulations to Jake Graham who played outstanding bowls to defeat Bill Ahoy 21-7 in the final of the President’s singles on Sunday. Jake got away to a 9-4 lead after 7 ends and did not allow his much more experienced opponent into the game after that.
In minor triples on Saturday morning Gavin Latham, Aaron McMillan and Jeff McCann defeated Bob Adams, Brian Charter and Col Pell 18-12 and the match was only decided over the last 2 ends. In the afternoon they played Max Prater, John Elliott and Dave Bristow in a semi final and again the match went down to the last end however this time Gavin’s team went down by 1 shot allowing Max and his team to go through to the final to play Dave Dowse, Paul Wadleigh and Bruce Wadleigh.
Nominations for the new board of directors have closed and the club’s 96th annual meeting will be held on Sunday 19th September at 10am with several positions to be decided by ballot.
Entries are also being accepted for the Versatility Fours to be held on Saturday 25 September and Sunday 26 September. Each team must consist of at least two Minor graded players. Limited to eighteen (18) teams. Entry fee is $120 per team.
